Lattafa Teriaq Air Freshener Spray, 300ml Can

This is the room and car spray version of Teriaq, one of the Lattafa perfumes people ask for by name. Same scent family as the bottle. You get it in a 300ml aerosol can, so you can spray your car, your bedroom or the office without using up a perfume you paid good money for.

Most of the people who pick it up already wear Teriaq, or smelled it on a friend and want that warm, sweet smell in the car too.

It works like any other aerosol. Press the cap and a fine mist comes out, hangs in the air for a few seconds, then settles. A short burst is plenty. You smell it first as caramel and a little pepper, then honey and rose, and after a while the warm base of vanilla, musk and leather is what stays in the cabin.

Reading the scent

Lattafa lists the Teriaq notes in three stages. You'll notice them change over the first half hour after you spray.

So if the first smell feels too sugary, give it a few minutes. The leather and musk underneath calm the sweetness down.

What we see at the counter

Don't keep the can in the car in summer. It's a pressurised aerosol, which means heat and direct sun are exactly what it has to be kept away from, and a closed car parked outside in Lahore or Multan in June gets far hotter than a room ever does. Keep it in the house or the office drawer and bring it out when you need it.

The other thing we hear about is marks. People spray straight onto the dashboard or the seats, and the perfume leaves a patch on leather and plastic trim. Spray into the air, not onto anything.

How to use it

  1. Shake the can well.
  2. Hold it upright and point it away from your face and eyes.
  3. In the car, spray one or two short bursts into the middle of the cabin, above the seats.
  4. Close the doors for a minute so the mist settles inside, then air it out a little before you drive.
  5. In a room, spray toward the centre and let it settle before you sit down.

The mistake we see most is spraying for five or six seconds in one go. Teriaq is strong, and in a small car like an Alto or a WagonR that much makes the air thick and can give passengers a headache. Short bursts, and you can always add one more.

Can I leave it in the car?

Not in summer. It's a pressurised can and heat and sunlight are what it warns against. Keep it indoors and bring it when you need it.

Will it stain my seats?

It can if you spray straight onto them. Spray into the air above the seats and let the mist settle on its own.

Is it too strong for a small car?

It's strong, so go easy. One short burst is usually enough for a Mehran, Alto or Cultus.

Can I use it at home as well?
