What Are You Replacing?

If an old indicator is cracked or unreliable, start by checking its mounting and connection. A DRL-equipped version adds another circuit to connect. For an appearance change, compare the size on the bike as well as the product photo; a light that looks right close up may sit differently on its bracket.

Check After Wet Weather

Water inside a lens, flickering over bumps and loose mounts all need attention. Replacing the lamp won't resolve a poor connection elsewhere, so have the wiring checked where necessary.

Electrical And Mounting Checks

Confirm a compatible 12V supply and the mounting arrangement. Universal does not mean every bracket or connector will match every motorcycle. Check which fittings are supplied.

LED indicators may flash too quickly with an existing relay. If that happens, check whether an LED-compatible flasher is required. Choose lighting colours and placement suitable for road use.

Having The Lights Fitted

1. Switch off the motorcycle and follow its battery-disconnection procedure.
2. Identify the old indicator's wiring before removal.
3. Mount the replacement securely without straining the wires.
4. Connect signal, earth and any separate DRL supply as specified.
5. Test both sides and any supported hazard function after reconnection.

Loose twists of wire under tape aren't a lasting connection on a motorcycle. Use suitable, protected connections and have the work checked if you're unsure of the circuit.
